water apple plant online
Introduction:
Today, we’ll discuss a very popular and sensitive fruit plant: the Java apple, also known as the water apple or wax apple. We’ll cover how you can grow this plant at home, including details on soil mix and overall care. Be sure to read the entire blog for complete information.
Growing:
Before you grow any fruit plant, including the water apple, ensure you don’t buy a plant grown from seeds or one that hasn’t been grafted or layered, as this can delay fruit production and affect the quality.
Use a good soil mix for watering, which I’ll share with you. You can see the results of the soil mix in the growth of my plant over two months. For growing your plant, start with a small pot, and as the plant grows and roots become bound, transfer it to a larger pot. This will promote better and quicker growth and give you better results.
Preaparing Pot:
When preparing the pot, ensure you have a good drainage system and fill it with soil. For the water apple plant, mix garden soil, compost, and half cocoa peat. This mix will give you great results.
After repotting, water the plant thoroughly and ensure the soil is moist. After a few days, move the plant to a sunny spot to encourage growth.
Care of Plant:
When it comes to care, place your plant where it can receive direct sunlight for seven to eight hours daily. This will ensure good growth and encourage the production of flowers and fruits. If the plant is in a shaded or semi-shaded area, it may not produce flowers or fruits.
Water the plant carefully, ensuring that the soil does not become waterlogged or completely dry out. The mix of cocoa peat helps with moisture retention. Water the plant when the top layer of soil is dry, and avoid overwatering.
Fungal Issues;
For fungal issues, use fungicides like sulphur or copper-based products, applying them once or twice a month. For pests, use pesticides and spray them every fifteen days to minimize pest attacks.
Fertilize the plant with a mixed fertilizer as you would for other plants.Once the plant starts flowering, stop using pesticides, fungicides, or fertilizers, as they can interfere with fruit production. After the flowers appear, refrain from adding any more chemicals.
That’s it for the care of the water apple plant. If you have any questions or suggestions, please leave them in the comments. If you liked the blog, share it with friends, and subscribe to our channel with notifications turned on to stay updated on our website.
