Introduction:
Plants always play a part in brightening our lives. Yellow is the color that stands out the most due to our focus light.
In Arabic, the yellow rose plant is known as "Wardat Safra." Before the eighteenth century, yellow roses were known in the Middle East as wildflowers. However, after the eighteenth century, yellow roses became quite popular. During the Victorian era, they were used to decorate everything.
Significance:
A few days ago, I brought a yellow rose plant from the nursery. I got it for just one hundred. Roses come in many colors, and they are often called the "king of flowers." I wanted to have roses of every color in my terrace garden, so after red, yellow is now here.
- In modern times, yellow roses are recognized as a symbol of friendship. You might commonly see them on Friendship Day.
Do you know which country is famous for rose cultivation?
If you don’t, that country is Bulgaria. Yes, Bulgaria is renowned for its rose production and is the largest producer of rose oil in the world.
Cutting:
For rose cuttings, plant them after mid-January, and you will see them start growing by March. The cutting should be at least five to six inches long and should always be cut at a forty-five-degree angle.
Watering:
Now, let’s talk about watering. These plants are drought-tolerant.
- In summer, water them regularly and keep the soil moist.
- In intense heat, you might need to water them twice a day and also use a water shower to keep them fresh.
- In winter, they need less water; once or twice a week is sufficient.
Growing:
For maximum flowering, continue to prune the plant regularly. The more you prune, the more new branches will develop, and new buds will form on these branches.
- For good growth of rose plants, they need daily exposure to six to eight hours of sunlight. During the hot summer days, protect them from direct sunlight and place the pot in a shaded area or somewhere with only a few hours of sun exposure.
- Like all rose plants, yellow roses prefer well-draining soil rich in nutrients.
Fertilization:
Let's discuss fertilizing. Calcium is as important for plants as it is for humans. This fertilizer will also help protect the plant from fungal attacks.
- When watering, avoid getting water on the flowers to prevent them from drying out prematurely. In summer, due to high temperatures, rose buds open quickly and are smaller, while in winter, the buds open on time, and the flowers are larger.
Roses are loved by everyone, but having them in your garden is special, especially when you gift them to loved ones.
