kamini plants

Introduction:

Hello! I am from Pak Plants. How I bring lots of flowering, and keep them healthy. I also share any difficulties I face. Today, we'll talk about a beautiful, ornamental, and easy-to-grow plant that you can keep indoors, outdoors, or on your balcony.

  •  It's very attractive and perfect for beginners in gardening.
  • This plant is called Murraya, also known as Mini Kamini or Table Top Kamini.

The Blog will cover how I take care of it, what fertilizers I use, and a mistake I made that led to some damage on the plant. I'll also show you how to repot a new Mini Kamini plant and provide some essential tips at the end.

Characteristics:

  • The Mini Kamini plant is a natural bonsai variety, which means it has small leaves and branches and doesn't grow too large.
  •  As it matures, it will turn into a beautiful bonsai plant.
  •  You can place it anywhere—indoors, outdoors, or on your balcony.
  •  It thrives in semi-shaded areas as it doesn't need too much direct sunlight.
  •  If it's placed in direct sunlight for too long, the leaves may turn black or get scorched.
  •  It's best to keep it in a spot where it gets morning sunlight for an hour or two.

Indoor Capability:

If you're keeping it indoors, make sure it gets enough light and air circulation. The plant will thrive in these conditions and can last for years indoors. Another crucial point is watering. Be very careful with watering as this plant is sensitive. Over-watering or under-watering can cause the leaves to fall off. Water only when the soil is dry, typically every three to four days.

Mistakes that cause damage:

Now, let me share a mistake I made. I placed the plant too close to another plant, and one side of the Mini Kamini didn't grow properly because it lacked space. This caused some damage to the plant. Once I noticed this, I moved the plants apart, and the Mini Kamini is slowly recovering, with new leaves growing.

Repoting of Kamini Plant:

When repotting, ensure the plant has enough space to grow evenly. Avoid placing it too close to other plants. If you bring a new Mini Kamini plant from the nursery, let it adjust to your home environment for a week before repotting. For repotting, use a well-draining soil mix—one-third soil, one-third compost, and one-third sand. Avoid using water-retentive soil as it can cause problems. Add neem cake and single super phosphate to the potting mix for better plant health.

Fast growing Process:

After repotting, use a solution of humic acid, Epsom salt, and fungicide to help the plant adjust and avoid transplant shock. Don’t use plain water after repotting. The solution helps the plant recover from the stress of repotting and promotes healthy growth.

Fertilization Process:

For fertilizing, this plant requires minimal feeding. Once a month, you can use a micro-nutrient solution and balanced NPK fertilizer. A little compost can also be added monthly.

Instructions about care:

Lastly, always water the soil, not the leaves or flowers, to prevent fungal infections. If the leaves turn yellow, remove them with sterilized tools as the chlorophyll in yellow leaves won't return. Removing these leaves helps the plant focus on new, healthy growth.
