Sukh Shanti Plant
Introduction:
Hello friends, welcome back to Pak Plants!!
Today, we will be talking about a plant known as the "Sukh Shanti" or "Peace Lily."
We'll discuss how to care for this plant to ensure it grows well and stays healthy.
We’ll cover the pot size, plant rate, sunlight requirements, water needs, soil preparation, and more. So, stay tuned as I share all these details with you.
How it named as sukh shanti?
Firstly, let’s talk about the plant itself. As its name suggests, the Sukh Shanti plant is considered valuable according to Vastu. It is believed that this plant helps to attract happiness and prosperity to the home. It is also known to aid in resolving various issues related to money, physical health, and mental well-being. In fact, Vastu suggests that this plant acts like a magnet for happiness and wealth. Its name is the Peace and Harmony plant.
Medicinal Importance:
This is a medicinal plant used in Ayurvedic treatments. The leaves are quite useful. From a medicinal science perspective, this plant also holds value. It can be helpful in treating certain illnesses such as sinus-related issues, and medicines made from this plant are also quite effective.
Pot size:
Let’s start with the pot size. I have this plant in a 12-inch pot. When I got it, I planted it in a 12-inch container, and it has grown quite well since then. The plant has matured nicely, as you can see from its stems and flowers.
Soil Quality:
Now, about the soil. The soil should be well-draining. For this plant, I used a mix with 50% garden soil, 30% compost (like cow dung or vermicompost), and 20% river sand. You can use any compost available to you. The best compost for this plant is leaf compost.
Watering Process:
Regarding watering, this plant needs minimal water. I check the soil by touching it. If it feels dry, I water it; otherwise, I let it be.
Sunlight requirement:
For sunlight, this plant prefers about 2-3 hours of indirect sunlight. It can tolerate direct sunlight but may get yellowish leaves if exposed to too much direct sun.
Nutrition Requirement:
As for nutrition, leaf compost is the best choice. Since this plant is originally a wild plant, leaf compost, which is commonly found in forests, is ideal. Another technique to promote healthy growth is to remove a top layer of soil (about 1.5 inches) and replace it with fresh compost. This method will give you great results.
Propagation process:
When propagating, you can either cut flowers and dry them for planting or take stem cuttings during the rainy season when the plant grows well. Cut the stems, let them dry a bit, and then plant them in the soil. March is a good time for cuttings. You can propagate it by cutting it from the middle or by taking cuttings. I’ll show you the flowers on the plant. Look at these small flowers starting to bloom. If the plant is mature, it will have flowers. You can give it a pinched, bonsai-like shape to keep it small and compact.
Vastu Tips:
For Vastu tips, this plant is best placed at the main entrance of your home to attract prosperity and peace. It can also be placed in the balcony if that’s more convenient.
Longitudinal Growing:
This plant, currently growing upwards, can become crowded if left unchecked. So, you need to be careful not to let too much water collect on the leaves. It’s easily available in nurseries. Some people say it’s very cheap, but I bought it for a bit more. The roots are quite healthy.
Flower Removing:
Once it’s set, I’ll do some pruning. Removing flowers that consume the plant’s energy is important to help it grow better.
