rudraksha plant

Introduction:

Hello friends, welcome to the Pak Plant. In today’s blog, we will discuss a highly spiritual plant. Yes, we are talking about the Rudraksha plant.

The Rudraksha plant is quite rare to find. In Northern India, you can easily see it in the Himalayan regions. In the South, it can be found in areas like Mysore, Karnataka, and Kerala. Nowadays, people are growing Rudraksha plants in various parts of India as they have become more accessible. You can find these plants in most nurseries, and they are available in different price ranges depending on the variety and quality.

Significance:

The Rudraksha tree is very special and holds significant spiritual and religious importance. It is used in various rituals and is believed to bring great benefits. Today, we will talk about how to plant Rudraksha at home, whether in pots or directly in the ground. We will also discuss the suitable soil mix, fertilizer, and how to care for this auspicious plant so that it thrives and bears fruit.

Types:

Let’s dive into the different types of Rudraksha and how to select them. Rudraksha can have different numbers of facets, ranging from one to twenty-one. The most common is the five-faceted Rudraksha. The Nepali Rudraksha is well-known and widely available. However, obtaining a single-faceted Rudraksha plant is quite challenging, as one-faceted Rudraksha is extremely rare.

Authenticity:

The authenticity of Rudraksha can be tested in various ways. For instance, if you put it in mustard oil, a genuine Rudraksha will not lose its color. Additionally, if placed in water, a real Rudraksha will sink, while a fake one will float. There are also tests to check for the presence of fibers, which indicate authenticity.

Soil Mixture:

When preparing the potting mix, it’s essential to use a blend of compost, sand, gravel, and well-rotted manure. Mix these in equal parts to ensure good drainage and nutrient availability. The Rudraksha plant typically starts producing fruits after five to six years.

There are different methods to propagate Rudraksha:

  •  Air layering, grafting, and from seeds. Air-layered and grafted plants generally bear fruit sooner compared to seed-grown plants.

Temperature:

Rudraksha plants can tolerate high temperatures and can even grow well in hot climates up to forty-five degrees Celsius. We have grown Rudraksha in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, where temperatures can reach up to forty-five degrees Celsius, and the plants have thrived.
